Flytt!

"Dear Albin

The following letter is the answers for your questions

1. How many people are there per class?

There will be 25 students in one class

2. Do many people achieve HSK grade 6 after one year?

No. only part of them can pass the test. Because of some reasons, most students will quit this test cuz it really needs your patience, time and devotion to it.

3. What is the advantage of SHISU over other schools?

The woman picked my phone said because it was international language university, of course they could provide better language teaching methods, you did not need to doubt about that.

4. Do you offer some sort of accommodation, and is it ok to rent a flat outside the school?

They will give you the accommodation if you want. (But I think I should tell you something about the so-called accommodation to you secretly, the rooms are always very small and expensive. While being expensive is not the problem, but the rooms look so dirty and jail-like. The advantage is that they have safeguards for the accommodation, random people won’t reach you easily, you will have a lot of mates around you to practice with you and you can go for classes easily)

Since you are allowed to rent flat by yourself, so I suggest you to rent but it takes time to negotiate with landlords. In my view, I think it will be more worthwhile to live outside.

5. Who are the teachers? Are they Chinese or English? Both? Do they speak?
good English?

Only Chinese teachers who major in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language will come to teach expats.

I have some friends who study that major, but honestly, their English level depends. Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language focus on the literature of Chinese; English is not the main part. But for a fresh student, they will teach in English. I donot know your Mandarin Level actually, so if your level is not that high, they will have teachers to speak excellent English.

6. What exactly is it that I will learn?
Grammar and how to communicate with people basically.

7. How will i learn this? What kind of material? Is it only a text book?
or does it include movies and tapes and other ways of teaching?
They will give you materials like books and with DVD or tapes in the books. Teachers will have their own ways to teach with some PPT or own books (During their teaching, they will ask you to borrow or buy some extra exercise books.)

8. How many students are there in the school and how many start studying
Chinese every year?
She said she was not sure about the population yet, but as far as I know, SISU has the most foreign students learning there because of its high reputation. Compared with my university (ECNU), it has at least doubled the number, so I bet it will give you the best atmosphere to be in that campus.

9. is it only learning language, or is it a small Chinese culture part
Included as well?

Mainly the teachers there will only teach you how to say Mandarin, but there will be a lot of activities organized by Chinese students and foreigner students everyday, sometimes during the anniversary, the school will also organize some parties, but mostly will be held by students themselves.

Here’s something else I asked her and the reply from the lady

Every year will have 4 times to recruit students. The latest class opens in June 29th and you have to apply for it before May if you really want. She said it was impossible for her to help me find some students for you; maybe you can try to find some by yourself in the campus. You can choose to look around in the campus to have a one-day trip and stop some foreign students to get your information."

1 timmes tåg i 200km/h.
